The Turkish media is mesmerized by the heartbreaking scenes of war in Ukraine, which means domestic politics has been relatively quiet during the week. President Erdogan, too, seems to have grasped that the Russia-Ukraine War could deal a big blow to the already shaky New Economic Model.

Indeed, the first politics essay covers what we know about the progress of the war and how it could suck in Turkey, diplomatically and economically. Be advised that the political equilibrium being wafer-thin, any economic spillover could seriously hurt Erdogan’s reelection chances.

In the second section, we cover what may be expected from the historic 6-leader unveiling of the re-democratization proposal of the opposition tomorrow.
