Some signs of good sense have started to appear on the political stage. Although it is too soon for celebrations, we hope the recent improvement is not just a series of random events, but instead reflects some learning by the actors involved. The retraction (0.2%) of GDP in the first quarter, with a steep drop of investments, shows how important it is for the government to recover its credibility, so that business executives and consumers will have the necessary confidence to invest and consume more.
