Synthesis of the Brazilian economy

The month of April 2020 will be remembered as one of the most unique ever experienced by the country. Circumstances were created assuring the concomitant aggravation of three major crises: the pandemic, the political crisis and the economic crisis. The number of deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus in the country now exceeds 6 thousand, and the contagion rate is accelerating rapidly. In a single month, Bolsonaro fired two of his most popular and competent ministers, Mandetta and Moro, leaving behind an eloquent indication of the absence of a coherent strategy to combat the health crisis in the first case, and of political interference in the justice system in the second. While the economic situation provoked by the pandemic already was hard to overcome with competent coordination, now with the instigation and inflammation of conflicts it is no surprise that Brazil has been the country experiencing the greatest capital flight in recent weeks. Unfortunately, there’s no way to say the worst has already passed.
