​Government announces economic stimulus measures
In an attempt to tackle the economic recession and to respond to the political pressure of the last few weeks, the government announced a set of 10 measures to increase productivity in the private sector, reduce bureaucracy, and stimulate economic recovery.

According to President Michel Temer, the measures were drafted to fight unemployment. The Minister of Finance, Henrique Meirelles, stated that the measures will contribute to economic growth of 2.5% in Q4 2017 compared to Q4 2016.

“This includes the fiscal austerity effort, the stabilization of prices and all the measures to increase productivity that will allow Brazil to grow and keep growing,” he said.
