In response to the lowering of the economic growth prediction for this year, from 2.1% to 1.5%, Bolsonaro will launch the Income and Opportunity Program tomorrow. The program should allow access to funds for people to pay off their debts. Yesterday, Bolsonaro said that Petrobras CEO Joaquim Silva e Luna may be fired from the company. Lower House President Arthur Lira (PP-AL) said that Petrobras should back down from increasing fuel prices, and Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco said we should be focusing on its pricing policy instead of finding a replacement for the head of the company. The issue regarding public servants’ salary raises has not yet been resolved. The public servants of the Central Bank, for example, will hold daily strikes of four hours, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., starting today.
