The First Deputy Head of the NBU Rozhkova might be dismissed tomorrow

Social nets and local media actively discuss potential dismissal of the First Deputy Head of the NBU Kateryna Rozhkova and the Deputy Head Dmytro Sologub. Some bloggers report the NBU Council plans to dismiss both top officials tomorrow, the others say only Rozhkova is on the list. Kateryna Rozhkova reported to journalists she had her last talk with the NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko a month ago on Sept 10th. For us there is no surprise in such development. It was quite predictable the new Governor will replace the old team from the scene eventually. Shevchenko promises no hryvnia printing whatever happens. However, Ukrainian leadership has limited options given the IMF program is on pause. Either MinFin cuts large part of planned spending or the NBU launches printing press to cover at least critical liabilities. The final decision will be on President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Chances for some unpredictable source of funding look quite slim.
