The opposition had obtained the minimum 27 signatures necessary to create a Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) in the Senate to investigate allegations of corruption in the Ministry of Education. However, government negotiations managed to withdraw some signatures to reduce the negative effects of the CPI on the upcoming elections. On Wednesday, employees of the Comptroller General of the Federal Government (CGU), the National Treasury, the Central Bank and the Superintendence of Private Insurance (Susep) will meet to discuss strikes. The União Brasil is negotiating the formation of an alliance with the PSDB, MDB and Cidadania for the upcoming presidential election. One of the most likely names for the candidacy is the president of the party, Luciano Bivar. Former Judge Sergio Moro, who left the Podemos to join the União Brasil, is another possibility. However, Moro faces resistance from within his new party.
