BRAZIL POLITICS - Report 17 Dec 2021 by Murillo de Aragão and Cristiano Noronha

The House approved the bill that creates a new debt installment program for micro and small companies participating in the Simples Nacional, including individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEI) and companies in judicial recovery. An agreement was not reached for the approval of the Refis, which will have to voted on next year. Congress will likely overturn the veto on the increase in resources for the electoral fund, which could rise from R$ 2 billion to R$ 5.7 billion. Another veto that will be analyzed is the measure that allowed employees who were fired after privatization to acquire company shares at a discount. The vote on the final report on the 2022 Federal Budget is scheduled for Monday, December 20, at 10 a.m., in the Joint Budget Committee (CMO). Voting in the Congressional Plenary is scheduled for Monday or Tuesday.
