To guarantee approval, the rapporteur of the PEC on Fuels, Senator Fernando Bezerra, had to make some compromises. Bezerra included a R$ 200 gasoline voucher per month for taxi drivers, at a cost of R$ 2 billion, and the allocation of R$ 500 million to the Alimenta Brasil program. Next week will likely be quite busy. Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco will decide on the installation of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate allegations of corruption in the Ministry of Education (MEC). The meeting between Lula and businessmen is scheduled for Tuesday. In recent days, Lula has been meeting with businessmen to try to reassure them if he wins the election.
