The South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) announced that it is leaving the benchmark interest rate unchanged following the completion of this week’s meeting. This comes after it increased rates by 25 bps during the committee’s previous meeting in May 2026. As such, the policy rate remains at 7%, and the prime lending rate at 10.25%.
