The First Panel of the Supreme Court is reviewing Bolsonaro’s pretrial detention. This week, the Attorney General—appointed to fill the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Luís Roberto Barroso—begins meeting with senators. Messias will have to undergo a confirmation hearing before the Constitution and Justice Committee, followed by a floor vote. On Tuesday, the Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) hears from Central Bank President Gabriel Galípolo. Topics likely to come up include the situation involving Banco Master.
