In President Macri´s speech during the opening of the congressional session, he stated that the worst (of the economic reforms) is over, and that the government has set the foundations for sustained growth. He recently implied as much when he announced the decline in poverty and unemployment. In this report, we intend to review some of the main economic indicators that show the challenges the government continues to face, to get a better sense of how accurate the president’s expressions are, or if they still reflect a significant degree of wishful thinking.
