Third day of war: Putin’s offensive was stopped

We were unable to give any reports on the developments around Russian’s offensive since we were pretty busy bringing our beloved people out of the action area. Now we are in relatively safe place if any place could be safe on these days in Ukraine. I plan to give some personal observations based on official sources of information and on reports of people I know personally and trust. On the first day of the attack Russians have been desperately trying to capture airfield near Kyiv (Gostomel) to bring stronger forces of paratroopers (up to 4000 sodiers) right in the heart of the country. Ukrainian army kicked the special forces out of Gostomel for several times and eventually the deployment of paratroopers’ contingent was cancelled. Russians avoid open contacts with Ukrainian army and try to move fast into the depth of the country, probably, targeting some infrastructure objects or target to create panic among population. But mobile groups of the national guard quite fast liquidate all the groups and those Russian soldiers that survive are hiding in the forests around Kyiv. Squads of territorial defense are searching the remains of destroyed groups and liquidate. Ukrainian army are very effective in use of Javelines, NLaws and Stingers. According to the official reports Russians experience heavy losses in military units and may Ukrainians witnessing the fights confirm dozens of Russian tanks burned around Kyiv and Kharkiv. On the first night of the war Kyiv and all other cities were under heavy missile and air strikes.
