Turkey and Russia argue over Syria

On February 15 Turkey claimed to be honoring its agreements to calm the situation in Syria. 13 Turkish soldiers were killed by the Syrian Army in fighting around Idlib in the last two weeks. Russia is Syria's firmest ally. Russia claims to be urging restraint on Syria. Turkey is occupying Syrian land against the wishes of Damascus. Moscow says that the Turks have reneged on their agreements to de-escalate the conflict and to pull back. Turkey hosts almost 4 million Syrian refugees. The Turks are supporting some rebels factions but not ISIS.
