Turkey says Russia and Ukraine have agreed a grain deal

On July 22 Turkey said that talks brokered by it have borne fruit. The agreement would allow Ukraine to export grain from Odesa through the Black Sea. Turkey will inspects ships arriving to pick up grain and ensure they were not delivering arms for Ukraine. Ukrainian ships will guide grain ships through minefields. Russia will suspend hostility in the area. The deal was signed on July 22 in Istanbul by Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN.  20 million tons of grain are stuck in Odesa. Global grain prices have fallen due to optimism about the deal. Some Ukrainians and the US have voiced misgivings about Russian trustworthiness. The US accused Russia of willfully causing a food shortage in developing countries. The deal is the first deal in the war part from prisoner exchanges.
