Three other pro-Russian bureaucrats were killed on that day alone in separate incidents. One of them was deputy head of the Russian-appointed administration in Berdyansk. Ukraine neither claims nor denies being behind these reports. Pro-Russian elements blame ''the Kyiv regime'' for the deaths. Some Ukrainians officials say that gangsters have been killing each other in Russian-controlled areas. Ukraine has been using improvised explosive devices. LPR is now not using administrative buildings in case of a repeat performance. There have been 20 assassinations in Russian controlled regions since February 2022. Others have been wounded in failed assassination attempts.
