Waiting for the economic announcements after Milei's inauguration

Over the past few weeks ahead of last Sunday’s inauguration, Javier Milei has shown a much-needed degree of pragmatism. Not only did he put his more extreme proposals on the back burner, but he also incorporated former JxC officials in key positions in his cabinet. He even went as far as calling politicians from all origins to participate in the government.

Such pragmatism is important, as Milei's power balance in Congress is weak, and he will need to lure diverse political factions in an attempt to implement his promises of a “Copernican Change” in the way the government manages its geopolitical, social and economic policies.

Market expectations are set on an Uruguayan-style omnibus law that the government is expected to present soon. For starters, Luis Caputo is expected to announce his first economic measures this afternoon.
