The decision by the Prosecutor General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, to formally accuse Rep. Eduardo Cunha and Senator Fernando Collor will be the main topic of conversation this week in Congress. The Senate will decide if it will confirm Janot’s appointment for another two years; it may also vote on the bill that deals with repatriation of funds held by Brazilians abroad. On Tuesday, the opposition discusses a joint strategy for an impeachment.On Friday, the IBGE is expected to confirm a technical recession in its release of the GDP figures for the second quarter.
