Week of June 5

BRAZIL POLITICS - Report 05 Jun 2017 by Murillo de Aragão and Cristiano Noronha

An important week for the government, especially for President Michel Temer: the TSE begins discussions in the case that could remove him from power. Allies will monitor the discussions. The PSDB meets on Thursday to discuss the political environment. In the Senate, the government will try to display strength and advance Labor Reform. On Friday, the IBGE releases inflation data for May.

• The TSE battle starts again
• “End-of-the-world” plea bargain deals and more
• TSE to rule on the Dilma-Temer ticket
• Lack of consensus in the political world
• Pension Reform: still up in the air
• Palocci plea bargain deal
• Approval is unlikely for the Direct Elections Amendment
